I was actually quite impressed with this story! This may be my a new favorite series =)Jace and his brothers have worked hard to keep their ranch. But it seems no matter what they just can't get ahead and are more in debt than they can possible get out of. But they aren't the only farm that's failing.
Holly has been saving as many of the failing ranches as she can. She's going to Double Deuce too because there is something fishy going on with all these farms going under.
Jace doesn't know what to do with a mate, and he surely doesn't have the funds to support one, especially one who's use to living in money. But there's somebody in the shadows who believes he should be marrying Holly and will do what's necessary to get her.
Silly boys. Not all women care about money =)

Look forward to her books BUT I'm not into bondage, anal sex, spanking, whipping, etc. Not my kind of book.
What happens when the woman who is rescuing your home is your mate? Jace feels like Holly Snow is way out of his league and acts like a total bastard to push her away. But when fate says you're meant to be? You're meant to be. Throw in an unscrupulous bank owner and a desperate man with a domineering father and you have quite the adventure to a peaceful mating!
An ineffectual attempt at writing BDSM. Jace's character just can't pull off the role of Dom and the heroine is quite forgettable. If I had known this was even going to have a 'shade' of BDSM, I would have passed. There should have been a warning. Please Ms Barton...stick to your strong Alpha type males without resorting to the BDSM genre.
This book was so worth the wait. Jace started out as a bit of a her but understandable, Holly was tough and fantastic. You could see the sparks that would be between them even before they meet. I actually own all of Kathi Bartons books and am always on the list for pre order. I have not been disappointed in any of her books or series. I can't wait for the next book.
I absolutely loved Jace and Holly's story. She had enough fire and independence to make her character interesting and a perfect match for Jace. He was a complete jerk but quickly changed his tune and became her perfect mate and protector. I even liked Jeffery's character, as strange as he was, and was glad he was not the ultimate villain. I am so looking forward to reading the brother's stories!
Loved Jace! Great start to the series. I have to say that I didn't like Jace much in the begining. Jace is the 3rd oldest of 6 brothers, raised by their Aunt Georgie after their parents died in a plane crash. Their dairy fram/ranch is about to be go into foreclosure, and he is just done. When his aunt land in jail, Jace meets his mate, in her cell mate. Holly is an investment banker buying up the local ranches/farms, trying to presreve the community. Jace doesn't want a mate, at least not right now, and doesn't want a mate like Holly. He treats her pretty awfully. Eventually they come together. A fun, fast paced, and steamy BDSM story. I really hope thing go better for Jeff.
I love this author and a lot of her series. But sometimes I wish the heroines in her books don't give in to easily when it comes to the hero. The hero will say hurtful things and then next thing they are having sex. Especially if they've just met. I know when they meet their mate it's should be all instant love and what not. But it pisses me off when the hero got what he wanted then proceed to tell her "he doesn't want a mate", then the next time they meet it starts again, then they both say they don't want each other after they've just sex not once but twice more. It's definitely frustrating.
